In light of 2014’s Salone del Mobile, Maison Martin Margiela presented ‘Interior Couture’, an installation blending looks from the Spring-Summer 2014 ‘Artisanal’ collection with a selection of the works of art that inspired them. Images from the installation are now on Facebook.
Garments linings are apparent, inner details act as a contrast: pleats, buttons and stitching become a ‘trompe l’œil’ motif; the garment seems scanned.
